Job Title: Medical Technologist / Medical Laboratory Technician Profession: Medical Laboratory Specialty: Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Technician Duration: 16 weeks Shift: Wednesday to Tuesday Hours per Shift: 12 hours (7 PM to 7:30 AM) Experience: Minimum of one year of experience preferred License: Certification required in relevant fields Certifications: Must be certified/registered by one of the following agencies: MLT(ASCP), MLT(AMT), CLT(NCA) for Medical Laboratory Technicians. MT(ASCP), MT(AMT), CLS(NCA) for Medical Technologists. Must-Have: Must have graduated from an approved school of Medical Technology/Laboratory Science with an Associate's or Bachelor's degree. Possess excellent customer service skills. Comfortable with routine phlebotomy. Knowledge of hospital laboratory practices, including infection control requirements. Knowledge of governmental and regulatory policies and standards. Adherence to sterilization and infection control procedures is required. Ability to manage workflow while working independently during overnight shifts. Multitasking ability is essential. Description: Perform laboratory testing for a medical laboratory. This position is a 7 on 7 off position working Wednesday to Tuesday during your scheduled work week. Shifts are from 7 PM to 7:30 AM. This role requires working every other weekend during the week you work. Holidays will be worked if it is your scheduled shift week. Overtime is earned at 80 hours per pay period. This position requires managing workflow independently during overnight hours. Essential functions include performing analyses, tests, and procedures that assist in the prevention, diagnosis, or treatment of diseases. Accessioning and ordering tests in the Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and processing specimens with referral to reference laboratories. Operate, maintain, and calibrate laboratory equipment to ensure accurate results. Perform basic troubleshooting as needed. Maintain documentation according to regulatory agencies and laboratory policies and procedures. Exposure to infectious clinical specimens is regular; adherence to safety protocols is mandatory. Demonstrate commitment to performing analytical testing with skill, accuracy, and proficiency.
