Location: 701 W. 51st Street, Austin, TX 78751 (Onsite Only – Local Candidates Preferred) Start Date: 10/13/2025 End Date: 02/27/2026 Estimated Hours: 792 Work Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM CT (occasional evenings/weekends may apply) HHSC is seeking a Project Manager 3 to lead the Provider Enrollment and Management System (PEMS) Plus Credentialing project. This role focuses on integrating the credentialing process used by MCOs/DMOs into the existing PEMS application, ensuring efficient Medicaid provider enrollment and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee the PEMS Plus Credentialing project lifecycle.
• Coordinate with PEMS Sprint Teams and Provider Services.
• Develop and maintain integrated project timelines and documentation.
• Identify and manage critical path dependencies.
• Lead meetings and provide project status updates to leadership and stakeholders.
• Develop risk mitigation strategies.
• Collaborate with internal and external teams, including vendors and technical staff.
• Ensure deliverables meet HHSC's operational and technical requirements.

Minimum Qualifications:

Years - Required Skills

8 - Project management of large-scale IT projects (system integration, vendor mgmt., etc.)

7 - Experience with Medicaid Enterprise Systems/MMIS

7 - Medicaid business operations

7 - Deadline-driven with proven organizational skills

7 - Facilitation of project meetings and stakeholder collaboration

7 - Microsoft Office Suite (Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project)

7 - Strategic planning and execution of project deliverables

4 - Project Management Certification (PMP or equivalent)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Texas Medicaid programs and provider enrollment systems
• Scrum Master Certification
• Familiarity with Texas HHS programs

Additional Information:

• PMP Certification is REQUIRED (must be listed on resume; proof may be requested)
• No remote work; must work onsite at the Austin location
• Travel may be required per HHSC Telework Policy
• Candidates must be based in Texas and legally eligible to work in the U.S.
