Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN General, Dialysis) Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Staff Augmentation Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Multiple Hours per Shift: 12:00 AM - 12:00 PM Experience: Minimum years of experience required License: Valid RN License Certifications: Relevant certifications required Must-Have: Must be available any shift and hours as they may change. Availability all days of the week is required. Candidate must have no upcoming scheduling conflicts. Description: Provides professional nursing care to patients housed in a correctional facility or state-operated institution. Observes, assesses, and records symptoms, reactions, and progress of patients. Makes nursing rounds and takes and records vital signs. Prepares and administers prescribed medications and implements treatment plans or immunizations. Monitors patients in restraint scenarios on a timely basis and provides immediate medical attention to emergencies. Administers first aid, arranges transportation to an emergency room, and contacts a physician when necessary. Counsels patients regarding the need for medical referrals. Schedules, assigns, and reviews work of lower-level staff and participates in staff development and education. Reviews care plans written by staff and trains or orients new employees. Responsible for healthcare for bedridden patients including making rounds, evaluating care needs, and rendering care. Develops care plans and teaches healthcare principles. Administers medications including narcotics and provides direct nursing care as needed. Performs specialized procedures such as IV therapy, wound care, and CPR. Organizes and oversees emergency response teams and directs healthcare staff assigned to the area.
