Job Overview Borinquen Medical Centers is based in Miami, FL, and is seeking to hire a full-time Dental Assistant to join our team. The dental assistant assists the dentist and hygienist with a variety of dental services and examinations. You will possess specialized skills in understanding dental services and procedures as well as medical communication. Tasks and Responsibilities Works chair side as dentists examine and treat patients. Prepares and arranges needed tools and instruments for scheduled procedures. Makes patients as comfortable as possible in the dental chair, prepares them for treatment, and obtains their dental records. Hands instruments and materials to dentists and keeps patients’ mouths dry and clear by using suction or other devices. Sterilizes and disinfects instruments and equipment, prepares trays of instruments for dental procedures, and instructs patients on postoperative and general oral healthcare. Prepares materials for impressions and restorations, takes dental x‑rays, and processes x‑ray film as directed by a dentist. Maintains dental supplies inventory, and orders and receives dental supplies. Performs a variety of office management tasks. Schedules dental appointments according to template. Ensures all payments are taken and pre‑authorization is checked before any procedure is rendered. Maintains an organized, clean, efficient, and confidential work area. Supports staff in assigned project‑based work. Uses Farm, Dentrix, Athena, or Outlook. Requirements Dental Assistant Technical Education from an accredited program. At least 2 years of experience as a Dental Assistant. X‑ray certification. CPR certification. Knowledge of office policies and procedures; knowledge of safety procedures and HIPAA patient confidentiality requirements. Basic computer skills.
