Are you passionate about supporting the senior population and making a real difference in their lives? EAC Network, a leading not-for-profit social service agency dedicated to helping over 79,000 people through 100 impactful programs across Long Island and NYC, is looking for a dedicated part-time driver to join the Roslyn Senior Community Service Center (SCSC).

• Salary: $24 per hour
• Schedule: Monday-Friday 9AM- 3:00PM
• Location: 1579 Northern Blvd. in Roslyn, NY (Located in the Episcopal Church)

What drives the core purpose of this job:

The driver is responsible for transporting elderly participants to and from the Roslyn Senior Community Service Center (SCSC) in an assigned EAC Network 21 passenger vehicle.

What are the key responsibilities:

1. Transport participants to and from the Roslyn SCSC in EAC assigned 21 passenger vehicles.
2. Provide safe transportation by adhering to all safety rules of the road and exercising appropriate driving judgment including checking that all individuals on vehicle are utilizing seat belts always.
3. Maintain program vehicle(s), informing Center Manager of any problems. Keep record of vehicle repairs.
4. Maintain transportation lists and contact center members to inquire about transportation reservations.
5. Maintain proper levels of gasoline and oil in program vehicle(s) and keep interior of vehicle(s) clean.
6. Maintain daily mileage log.
7. Assist with serving of meals, kitchen clean-up, daily activities set up and clean up.
8. Adhere to all policy and procedures set forth in EAC Network's Personnel Manual and Agency Driver Policy.
9. May occasionally be required to work at another EAC Senior Program location during normal working hours transporting members in EAC assigned vehicle.

What key knowledge, skills, and abilities are required to excel in this role:

1. Valid NY State Commercial Driver's License (CDL - Must be Class B) with passenger endorsement (transport headcount of 16+ passengers) with no record of suspensions.
2. Must take defensive driving course every 3 years and submit verification.
3. Ability to read and interpret a map/GPS as necessary.
4. Ability to communicate with and understand the needs of the elderly.
5. Ability to complete all required paperwork necessary to perform work assignments.
