Registered Nurse, Home Care, Wound and Ostomy, Per Diem, Day

Position Summary To fulfill the needs of patients in a variety of age groups, their family members, and the community by performing specialized patient care tasks and functions in accordance with licensure, certification, training, and regulatory requirements. To respond effectively to new and changing work environments. To bear the responsibility and accountability for the specialty nursing care that the patient receives while receiving services from Valley Home Care, Inc. Education Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing. BSN preferred. Current/valid state of NJ RN license (or legal permission to work from the NJ Board of Nursing). Completion of an accredited Wound Ostomy Continence Nursing (WOCN) full scope specialty. Experience 2 years of RN experience required plus an additional 2 years of experience in the specialty area. Computer and keyboard skills. Medical terminology required. Please note that per diem roles are compensated at a fixed holder rate and fee‑for‑visit rates, which will be discussed during the hiring process. Special Skills Current State of New Jersey license (or legal permission to work from the New Jersey Board of Nursing). Current and valid CPR certification. Demonstrates effective interaction and communication (oral, writing, presenting) skills. Ability to work accurately and pay attention to details, often changing from one task to another without loss of efficiency or composure. Ability to function competently in stressful situations and a changing work environment related to changing customer needs. Ability to work cooperatively within the health‑system; with patients and family members; and with multidisciplinary team members (i.e., physicians, Rehab, etc.). Ability to utilize effective time management to set priorities, perform job related responsibilities, and respond quickly to emergency situations. Ability to use critical thinking and clinical reasoning skills to effectively problem‑solve and deliver care. Driver's License – current and valid driver's license, registration, inspection sticker and appropriate level of insurance coverage required, to include collision. Employees must adhere to all procedural guidelines in HR Policy 108 including demonstrating an acceptable driving record for the duration of their employment as long as driving continues to be a responsibility of the job.
