Mancan Staffing Temporary Employment Agency is currently looking for a research seed lab technician.

RESEARCH SEED LAB TECHNICIAN - (4)

Plant Breeding Company in Immokalee seeking 4 persons with strong organizational skills, hard worker, detail oriented, accurate with numbers to analyze, interpret data for seed processing and shipping, organize seed storage and maintain seed inventory. Computer knowledge Word/Excel/Access,
F/T. EOE Immokalee.
Hourly position start rate $17.00/hour

This is a full time temp to perm position. The ideal candidate will have excellent time management and organizational skills.

Must have reliable transportation
Must excellent math skills
Must be able to walk, stand, bend, stoop for long periods of time.
Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
Must have the ability to work well with others.
Must be able to lift 20lbs.
Must have good vision (may be corrected vision).

agricultural research facility (tomato and pepper) and we have attached storage-cooler to our office space with seed selections. The daily duties require regular visit to the cooler (temp 48-49F) searching and bringing boxes with seed packets (boxes weight is aprox 5-7 lbs each).

The person need to be very organized, multitasking, detail oriented as we have lots of spreadsheets, books and data with numbers to put in order; make inventory or simply collect seed, rewrite on paper, or retype in computer.

Basic computer knowledge is helpful, we use Word, Excel and our Access program (database) to look for seed (like library coding system). We do organize and maintain storage inventory as we receive seed selections from different research stations as: California, Mexico, Chile, Brazil.

We also provide seed for our internal labs for screening and trials so work responsibilities will require printing pepper paper and plastic labels and adjusting them on sowing envelopes.

The work on daily basis is very repetitive, but each day is different with many new challenges.
The person needs to think outside the box and be self-motivated and know how to work independently.
