Warehouse Picker & Packer

This role supports a busy aviation warehouse that is transitioning inventory from one facility into a new Jacksonville warehouse. For the first four months, you will focus heavily on unloading multiple trucks per day, checking packages, receiving parts into inventory, and organizing stock in the warehouse. As the operation moves from transition to fully operational, your duties will remain similar and will continue to support aviation parts distribution for commercial airlines and related operations.

Responsibilities

• Unload incoming inventory from trucks multiple times per day during the transition period.
• Inspect incoming packages, verify contents, and check for accuracy and condition.
• Receive parts into inventory using warehouse management systems and RF scanners.
• Perform put-aways by placing received items into appropriate shelf locations.
• Stock shelves and maintain organized, clearly labeled storage locations.
• Pick inventory accurately for shipment to customers or repair vendors.
• Pack and prepare shipments according to company procedures and customer requirements.
• Perform regular inventory cycle counts to ensure stock accuracy.
• Research missing parts and track down current locations within the warehouse.
• Use manual pallet jacks to move pallets and materials safely throughout the warehouse.
• Work with computers to key in numbers and update data in warehouse management systems.
• Follow all safety procedures, including proper lifting techniques and use of required footwear.
• Support ongoing warehouse operations as the facility transitions from setup to full production.

Essential Skills

• At least 3 months of experience in warehouse distribution or a similar warehouse environment.
• Experience with picking, packing, production, inventory control, packaging, and shipping and receiving.
• At least 3 months of experience using RF scanners for inventory and order processing.
• Ability to use warehouse management systems (WMS) and work comfortably with computers and numeric data entry.
• Experience performing inventory or cycle counts to maintain accurate stock levels.
• Ability to operate manual pallet jacks safely.
• Capability to lift up to 45 pounds on a regular basis.
• Comfort working on your feet for the majority of the day in a large warehouse setting.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous experience in a distribution environment supporting complex operations such as aviation or similar industries.
• Strong attention to detail when checking packages, verifying inventory, and keying in data.
• Ability to adapt to changing duties as the warehouse transitions from move-in to full operations.
• Good problem-solving skills to research and locate missing parts within the facility.
• Reliability and punctuality to support daily truck unloads and time-sensitive shipments.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills to coordinate with other warehouse staff and departments.

Work Environment

You will work in a large, non-climate-controlled warehouse where you are on your feet for most of the day and frequently moving throughout the facility. The operation involves frequent truck unloading, shelving, and picking activities, with regular use of RF scanners, warehouse management systems, and manual pallet jacks. The role follows typical warehouse hours and supports an active, fast-paced logistics environment. Steel-toed boots are required as part of the dress code, and a boot credit is provided to help meet this requirement.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Jacksonville, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
