This is a nationally recognized cancer institute operating within a $13 billion integrated academic health system. The facility spans five hospitals and multiple ambulatory locations across Southeast and Central Michigan, housing a robust Bone Marrow Transplant Program, infusion programs, and an expansive research enterprise with strong ties to a major state university cancer center partnership.

Physician - Hematology Oncology


Job Details:

• Serve as Division Head of Hematology/Oncology and Associate Medical Director of the Cancer Service Line, providing executive-level strategic and operational leadership
• Lead and oversee more than 40 full-time academic hematology/oncology physicians across the division
• Manage strategic oversight of over $1 billion in annual Gross Patient Revenue attributed to the division
• Direct clinical, academic, and research programs across hematology and oncology services systemwide
• Oversee integration and expansion of oncology services across five hospitals and multiple ambulatory locations
• Provide leadership to the Bone Marrow Transplant Program, infusion programs, and systemwide oncology services
• Collaborate with Cancer Service Line leadership and university cancer center partners to advance research initiatives
• Expand investigator-initiated clinical trials, precision medicine, and population health programs
• Mentor early-career investigators and support academic development among faculty
• Promote multidisciplinary collaboration across departments and specialties
• Support and advance graduate medical education and fellowship training programs
• Develop innovative models for inpatient and outpatient oncology care delivery
• Maintain a clinical practice (approximately 25%) within the Hematology/Oncology Division
• Work allocation: 40% Division Head leadership, 25% clinical practice, 25% Associate Medical Director responsibilities, 10% academic and research initiatives
• Board Certification in both Hematology and Medical Oncology required
• Completion of Hematology/Oncology Fellowship required
• Experienced physicians only - new graduates not accepted
• Michigan Medical License required (or willingness to obtain)
• ACLS, PALS, and DEA Certification required
• Clean malpractice and licensing history required
• EMR System: Epic
• H1B visa support available only - must be disclosed in submission details if applicable
• Not open for locum or locum-to-perm arrangements
