The Office Attendant - Seasonal, under general supervision, provides excellent customer service to patrons visiting the park and campground. Employee must exercise tact and courtesy in frequent contact with the general public.

Operates and balances assigned cash register. Answers multi-lined phones and forwards calls as necessary. Stocks shelves and drink machines. Completes assigned cleanups to keep area of responsibility clean and presenting a good appearance. Assists in making copies, faxing articles, etc. as deemed necessary. Assists in operating the Day Use Area Gate House as needed. Knowledge of all park and campground rules (after training). Operates and balance a cash register is required (staff will train.) Follows instructions, both oral and written. Performs manual labor to include lifting up to 25 lbs. Speaks to people with poise, voice control and confidence. Records and delivers information, to explain procedures, to follow oral and written instructions. Utilizes mathematical formulas; to add and subtract; multiply and divide; and utilizes decimals and percentages. Deals with people beyond giving and receiving instructions. Performs under occasional stress and when confronted with persons acting under stress. Maintains high standards of accuracy in exercising duties and responsibilities. Maintains high-quality communication and interacts with other County Agencies, co-workers, and the general public. Maintains effective and efficient output of all duties and responsibilities. Completes assigned work on or before deadlines in accordance with directives, County policy, standards and prescribed procedures. Attends work regularly and adhere to County policies and procedures regarding absences and tardiness. Maintains an enthusiastic, self-reliant and self-starting approach to meet job responsibilities and accountabilities. Strives to anticipate work to be done and initiates proper and acceptable direction for completion of work with a minimum of supervision and instruction. Accepts supervisory instruction and direction and strives to meet the goals and objectives of same. Special Requirements: This position may be subject to a fingerprint background check. Must be able to operate and balance a cash register with training. Requires varying work hours to include nights, weekends and holidays.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience: Six (6) months of customer service and cash handling experience.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be physically able to operate a variety of equipment and machinery including computers, phones, office equipment, etc. Must be able to exert a moderate amount of force constantly, and up to 25 pounds of force occasionally, to move objects. Moderate work usually requires walking or standing to a significant degree. However, if the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for Sedentary Work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for Moderate Work.
