Our goal is to modernize the unclassified OSINT data layer by developing new access patterns and services that support AI/ML enrichment, ETL pipelines, and data discovery and dissemination.If you are excited about building next-generation, scalable data architecture and applying your knowledge of the AWS ecosystem, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.What You’ll Do in This RoleBuild backend services using Java and the Spring ecosystemDevelop cloud-native solutions using AWSContribute to full-stack development using React and Next.jsSupport event-driven architectures and distributed systemsWork across multiple projects within the data platform and data pipeline unitFollow established Infrastructure as Code and Kubernetes patterns using technologies such as Terraform and TerragruntCollaborate with DevOps teams on infrastructure-related initiativesHelp modernize and expand data access, metadata services, and platform capabilitiesMinimum QualificationsActive Secret clearance or higher, with the willingness and ability to upgrade to a TS/SCI clearance with a polygraphBachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or equivalent professional experienceEight or more years of experience developing applications using Java and the Spring FrameworkExperience developing solutions in AWS cloud environmentsExperience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormationExperience with event-driven architectures and technologies such as Amazon SNS/SQS, EventBridge, Kinesis, or JMSPrimary residence within a two-hour commuting distance of our Herndon officeAbility to work effectively as both a collaborative team member and a self-starter in a dynamic environmentDesired QualificationsActive TS/SCI clearance with a polygraphExperience designing, developing, and supporting modern data platforms, data lakes, and data pipelines using technologies such as Databricks, Apache Spark, Snowflake, or comparable toolsExperience optimizing platform performance and storage for client access patterns, supporting distributed data architectures, and implementing data lifecycle capabilities, including CRUD operations and record versioningExperience with testing frameworks and tools such as JUnit, AssertJ, Mockito, or Spring RunnerExperience with scripting languages such as Python or BashExperience working in Linux environmentsExperience using Git for source controlDeep, hands-on experience with AWS services such as Amazon S3, DynamoDB, EKS, DocumentDB, Lambda, Timestream, CloudWatch, EC2, or ECSExperience developing and deploying containerized applicationsExperience with KubernetesExperience with React or Next.jsAbility to identify and interpret external data specifications and common data representationsExperience building monitoring and alerting capabilities for data pipelines using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or SplunkExperience contributing to open-source projects or communitiesThe base salary pay range for this role is $146,000 - $255,500.
