SUMMARY:
The Business Development Manager is responsible for strengthening community relationships and raising awareness about mental health and substance use issues within the community. By planning and executing impactful events and engaging with community members, this role plays a crucial part in fostering positive change and improving community well-being. The role helps identify collaborative solutions and create a lasting, positive impact on the community and the agency. The Business Development Manager serves as a vital bridge between the drug treatment facility and the broader community. This role is responsible for developing and executing outreach, marketing, and communications strategies that enhance the facility’s visibility, strengthen partnerships, and support client engagement. Through storytelling, education, and events, this position promotes awareness, combats stigma, and fosters a positive image of recovery and healing.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Community Engagement: Cultivate meaningful and collaborative relationships with community members, organizations, and leaders to strengthen local ties, address shared challenges, and raise awareness of our services within the communities we serve. This position can be considered the face of the organization through the visibility of the role. Develop and maintain strong relationships with local organizations, schools, healthcare providers, government agencies, and other community stakeholders. Represent the facility at community meetings, coalitions, health fairs, and recovery-oriented events. Coordinate speaking engagements, educational sessions, and advocacy opportunities to raise awareness about substance use treatment and recovery. Create and manage community partnerships that expand access to services and support client referrals. Business Development Plan and execute business development campaigns to promote facility services, events, and community impact. Manage the organization’s digital presence, including website updates, social media, and e-newsletters. Create compelling content that tells the story of recovery, highlights client success (with consent), and educates the public on addiction and treatment. Design and distribute promotional materials such as brochures, flyers, and press releases. Event Planning & Coordination: Plan, coordinate, and execute events that foster community involvement, provide opportunities for prevention activities while raising awareness and creating positive change. Works in conjunction with Leadership Events and activities must culminate in measurable outcomes. In addition, having a presence, providing support and participating in activities and events offered by other agencies is required. Community Partnership Development: Explore, nurture and sustain opportunities for collaboration by building meaningful, supportive partnerships that align with community needs and our organizational goals. Explore and cultivate new opportunities through thoughtful strategies that address local needs and create lasting, positive outcomes for the community. Cultivate connections that enable executive leadership to engage and collaborate with other key community leaders. Strong passion for the community and service while demonstrating an understanding of local issues and community needs and a strong desire to make a difference. Fundraising as the organization becomes more active with fundraising. Maintain a connection to the pulse of the communities we serve. Proven experience in community outreach, prevention, event planning, and relationship-building. Creative, resourceful, and self-motivated with excellent problem-solving skills. Ability to proficiently utilize social media as a tool. Strong communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with diverse groups. Participation in community events is a must with evening and weekend hours as events occur.COMPETENCIES:
Developing and executing targeted marketing plans to promote facility services. Creating brochures, newsletters, and promotional materials with sensitivity to addiction and recovery.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Required: Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent experience in a relevant field (such as Social Services, Health Care Administration, Non-Profit Management, Business Management and/or Education). Minimum 3 years of experience in community engagement, marketing, or public relations. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. A valid Driver's License Proficiency with digital marketing tools and platforms (social media, email marketing, CMS like WordPress). Strong organizational and event planning skills. Passion for behavioral health, addiction recovery, and social impact work. Preferred: Experience in the healthcare, behavioral health, or nonprofit sector. Familiarity with trauma-informed care, harm reduction, or recovery-oriented language. Graphic design or video editing skills (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite). Bilingual or multilingual candidates strongly encouraged to apply. Creative and Resourceful: Ability to think outside the box and leverage agency resources creatively to address challenges and achieve goals. Self-motivated, proactive, and able to problem-solve effectively. Social Media Savvy: Proficient in using social media platforms as a tool for community engagement, event promotion, and awareness-building. Collaboration and Independence: Ability to work independently while being part of a collaborative team. Ability to keep leadership informed on efforts and progress. Flexibility and Availability: Willingness to participate in community events and activities hosted by other organizations, maintaining an active presence within the community.PHYSICAL REQUIRMENTS:
