Robot Programmer

We're looking for a Robot Programmer to develop, deploy, and support automation cells built around Universal Robots UR5e collaborative arms. You'll own robot programs end to end — from concept and teach-pendant programming through integration with grippers, vision, and plant equipment, to on-floor commissioning and long-term support. This is a hands‑on role that mixes programming, mechatronics troubleshooting, and close work with production teams. What You’ll Do Develop, test, and optimize UR5e programs using PolyScope and URScript for tasks such as pick‑and‑place, machine tending, assembly, palletizing, dispensing, and inspection. Integrate end‑of‑arm tooling (grippers, force/torque applications, tool changers) and configure the UR5e’s built‑in force‑torque sensing for contact‑rich tasks. Set up and tune vision‑guided applications (2D/3D cameras, e.g., URCaps‑based or third‑party systems) for part location and quality checks. Configure industrial communication between the robot, PLCs, and plant equipment (Modbus TCP, PROFINET, EtherNet/IP, digital/analog I/O). Perform collaborative safety configuration and risk assessments in line with ISO10218 and ISO/TS15066, including safety‑rated I/O, safety planes, and force/speed limits. Commission cells on‑site: mechanical setup, teaching waypoints, cycle‑time optimization, and debugging under production conditions. Create documentation — program logic, operator instructions, I/O maps, and maintenance procedures — and train operators and technicians. Provide troubleshooting and continuous‑improvement support for deployed cells, including remote support via the RTDE/dashboard interfaces where applicable. What You’ll Need Required 2+ years programming industrial or collaborative robots, with hands‑on Universal Robots experience (UR5e or other e‑Series strongly preferred). Proficiency with PolyScope and URScript. Solid understanding of robot coordinate frames, TCP configuration, waypoints, and motion planning. Working knowledge of collaborative robot safety standards (ISO10218, ISO/TS15066) and how to apply them in a real cell. Experience integrating I/O and communicating with PLCs or other factory equipment. Comfortable reading electrical and mechanical drawings and doing basic mechatronics troubleshooting. Nice to Have Experience with machine vision integration (Cognex, Zivid, Pick-it, or similar). Scripting/software skills in Python or C++, and familiarity with the RTDE interface or ROS. URCaps or custom application development. Background in [your target vertical — e.g., PCB assembly, food packaging, machine tending]. Universal Robots training/certification (UR Academy Core or equivalent). Who You Are A methodical troubleshooter who's comfortable on a production floor and calm during commissioning.
