Responsive RecruiterPaul Davis Restoration, Inc. is a national franchise organization that provides property damage emergency services, restoration and reconstruction services for residential and commercial properties due to water, fire, mold, storm and other disasters. The Carpenter is primarily responsible for completing residential and commercial repair jobs that are assigned by the Project Managers of the reconstruction department.Essential Functions/ResponsibilitiesComplete assigned repair jobs for residential and commercial properties via a work order generated by Project ManagerCommunicate job progress with Estimators, Project Directors, Production Manager and/or CoordinatorsComplete measurements and calculate size and amount of material needed on assigned jobsConstruct, erect, install, and repair structures and fixtures made from wood and other materials on assigned jobsConstruct building frameworks, including walls, floors, and doorframesComplete drywall projectsClean up assigned job sites; may be doing a days' worth of work on different job sitesMay be traveling to more than one job site per dayCheck work throughout the project to ensure it is up to code and specificationsResponsible for recording your time and coding it to the appropriate jobsCompetency – Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Must be in possession of personal ToolsKnowledge of finish carpentry, framing, structural work, drywall, and trim carpentryKnowledge of technology (iPhone, iPad)Communication skills via phone and face to faceMath skills in order to accurately measure materials and budget materials within estimatesMechanical skills to work with various tools and machinesAbility to learn and operate our primary operating systems: RMS, TSheetsAbility to work safely with hand and power toolsAbility to maintain an acceptable Background Check and Motor Vehicle Record CheckRequired Education and ExperienceHigh School Diploma or GED required2 plus years' experience in the construction/repair industry as a Tradesman/CarpenterPreferred Education and Experience2 plus years' experience in finish carpentry workExperience with roofingPhysical RequirementMust be able to stay in a stationary position up to 25% of the time within a vehicle.Constantly positions self to move about job sites, stairs, walkways, roofs, crawl spacesOccasionally ascends and descends a ladder to complete jobsMust be able to communicate and converse with customers and internal employees over the phone and face to faceFrequently will lift up to 60lb.Work EnvironmentThe employee will be constantly working outdoors and be exposed to outdoor weather condition. The employee will occasionally be working indoors in the office. The employee will be exposed to air conditioning and heat.
