Consumer lending at a small branch, with frequent member contact.

You'll work directly with members on their borrowing needs: interviewing them about what they're looking for, analyzing their financial position, and approving or declining loans within policy or forwarding them for review. You'll set the terms, walk members through their documents, and stay with the loan after it closes.

Kearney is a smaller branch, so the week isn't all lending. You'll spend regular time on the teller line and represent NUFCU at a couple of community events a year. If you prefer a varied role over a narrow one, this fits.

What You'll Do

• Interview loan applicants to understand their needs, income, and financial condition, then explain loan programs and recommend options
• Analyze each member's financial position to assess credit risk, and approve, deny, or forward the request for a higher-level decision
• Underwrite loans for Member Service Representatives
• Establish terms and conditions on approved loans and review them with the member
• Prepare and review loan documents for completeness and accuracy
• Handle changes on existing loans: collateral releases, term changes, payment waivers, due date changes
• Assist with delinquency control and collection activity
• Help members with savings, certificates, IRAs, checking, and other credit union products, and identify where additional services fit their needs
• Open a cash drawer and help on the teller line, typically twice a week
• Represent NUFCU at 1 to 2 community events a year outside normal hours (Blue and Gold, a UNK football or volleyball game, the Lights Festival, or similar)
• Stay current on consumer credit laws, regulations, and trends

What Success Looks Like

• Loan volume that meets assigned goals, with delinquency and charge-off rates inside established targets
• Your proportionate share of new accounts opened and cross-sell goals met or exceeded
• Loan documents processed on time and done right
• A professional, courteous atmosphere that members and coworkers notice

What You Have

• One to three years of lending, credit union, banking, or similar financial services experience
• A two-year degree, a relevant certification or license, vendor-led specialized training, or an apprenticeship that built job-specific skills
• Comfort with confidential conversations, first-level conflict resolution, and the diplomacy that comes with them
• Strong sales skills paired with a service mindset
• Working knowledge of consumer credit laws and regulations, or the drive to build it
• Solid skills with computers, financial calculators, and standard office equipment
