Food Service PositionPosition Summary: To serve the students attractive, nutritious meals, following established guidelines. To provide a comfortable atmosphere for the students. Kitchen must follow all sanitation guidelines. Kitchen must be run efficiently.Essential Tasks and Responsibilities:Daily duties as assigned by Food Service ManagerWorks with the Food Service Manager and Director of Food Service to maintain the highest standards of safety and cleanliness, ensuring that all sanitation guidelines are followedHelps the Food Service Manager with special promotionsWorks with the Food Service Manager to assure special diet students are fed properlyPerforms related duties, as required, for special meals or functionsRemoves trash from the kitchen and ensures the trash collection area is clean and sanitaryCleans tables and cafeteria areaAssists in the preparation of and serves breakfast and lunchCleans up after breakfast and lunchWorks with the rotating cleaning and station schedules for the kitchenAttends any training meetings set by the districtUses good time management to assure serving schedules are metEnsures students are fed the correct foods in a timely mannerIs polite and courteous to students, faculty, staff, and parentsPromotes healthy eating in the school food departmentAssists, as needed, in using the eTrition computer programAssists in stocking grocery itemsOther tasks assigned by the Director of Food Service, the building administrator, and other central office administrators, as designated by the SuperintendentNote: The above description is illustrative of tasks and responsibilities.
