The Housekeeper plays a vital role in creating a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents across Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care. Through attention to detail, kindness, and thoughtful interactions, the Housekeeper contributes to an environment where residents feel valued and at ease.The Housekeeper is an important part of the resident experience, helping transform spaces into places of comfort, familiarity, and belonging.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Environment & Whole-Person Living:• Maintain a safe, sanitary, comfortable, and homelike environment for residents, staff, and visitors.• Inspect, monitor, clean, and maintain resident apartments, common areas, restrooms, showers, spa rooms, outdoor spaces, and employee service areas.• Ensure community spaces reflect a warm, welcoming, and home-like atmosphere.• Respect residents' personal spaces, preferences, and belongings while performing housekeeping duties.• Support residents' quality of life by creating environments that promote comfort, pride, and well-being.Resident Experience & Family Support:• Greet residents, families, and visitors in a friendly, respectful, and professional manner.• Develop positive relationships with residents through daily interactions and presence throughout the community.• Support residents during transitions with patience, empathy, and professionalism.• Recognize opportunities to provide comfort and exceptional service through small acts of kindness and hospitality.Housekeeping Operations:• Complete housekeeping duties in a timely and efficient manner as assigned by the supervisor.• Pick up, remove, and properly dispose of trash and waste materials.• Maintain flooring through sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and other floor care procedures.• Clean and maintain furniture, fixtures, appliances, and equipment.• Maintain lighting fixtures and other environmental elements as assigned.• Assist with cleaning and preparation of resident apartments.• Remove personal belongings and trash from vacated apartments according to policy.• Inspect vacated apartments and report findings to Housekeeping and Maintenance leadership.• Support community readiness for resident move-ins and transitions.Safety, Compliance & Infection Prevention:• Follow all infection prevention and control standards while performing housekeeping duties.• Demonstrate proper handling and disposal of biohazardous materials and waste.• Utilize housekeeping equipment safely and effectively according to training and established procedures.• Immediately report environmental concerns or situations that could pose a risk to resident, visitor, or team member safety.• Adhere to all company policies and applicable state and federal regulations.• Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free environment throughout the community.Team Collaboration & Culture Building:• Promote and support a positive work environment focused on teamwork, respect, and collaboration.• Partner with nursing, maintenance, culinary, life enrichment, and leadership teams to support the overall resident experience.• Maintain confidentiality of all resident, family, and staff information.• Communicate maintenance needs, safety concerns, and environmental observations promptly.• Participate in team meetings, training, and ongoing professional development opportunities.• Contribute to a culture where service excellence, compassion, and accountability are shared responsibilities.GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:• Previous experience in housekeeping, environmental services, hospitality, healthcare, or a related field preferred.• Dependable with a positive and service-oriented attitude.• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.• Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.• Passion for working with seniors and creating meaningful experiences for others.• Strong communication and customer service skills.• Must submit to a TB test in accordance with state regulations.• Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, push, and perform physical tasks associated with housekeeping responsibilities.• Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays as needed.• Must comply with all company policies, procedures, and safety standards.• Must maintain confidentiality of resident and organizational information.HME Care is an Equal Opportunity, Affirmative Action employer.
