Job Description

The Director of Enterprise Technical Learning provides strategic leadership for enterprise training programs that strengthen technical systems proficiency, financial services operations, lending knowledge, and regulatory compliance. This role develops and executes scalable learning strategies that prepare employees to perform confidently across business functions, support exceptional member experiences, and align with organizational goals.

The Director leads the design of innovative, measurable learning solutions that translate complex systems, processes, and compliance requirements into engaging and effective training experiences. By combining technical expertise, business acumen, and people-centered leadership, this role builds workforce capability, supports organizational change, and ensures training programs evolve alongside business growth, technology advancements, and operational needs.

As a collaborative and influential leader, the Director fosters a culture of continuous learning, accountability, and innovation while developing training infrastructure that enables long-term organizational success and employee development.

Essential Functions

• Inter-Departmental Collaboration / Development:
  • Partner with senior leaders, operational leaders, lending leaders, risk, compliance, LCE leadership, and subject matter experts to identify current and future training needs and align learning priorities with business objectives.
  • Drive training support for system implementations, core conversions, process changes, product updates, regulatory changes, and enterprise initiatives that require clear communication and confident employee adoption.
  • Maintain strong governance over training content to ensure materials remain accurate, consistent, accessible, compliant, and aligned with current policies, procedures, operational expectations, and cultural values.
  • Build trust-based relationships with stakeholders by listening carefully, communicating clearly, following through on commitments, and providing thoughtful recommendations grounded in both data and business insight.
• Instructional Delivery Oversight:
  • Lead the vision, strategy, execution, and timely development of training programs supporting technical systems, Wing's operations, lending, contact center, service center, and other member-facing or operational business areas.
  • Develop and oversee training frameworks, tools, resources, schedules, standards, and measurement strategies that support workforce readiness, operational consistency, and scalable growth.
  • Support the vision, design, and execution of various learning modalities including but not limited to virtual, asynchronous, in-person and remote training strategies that enable consistent, accessible, and engaging learning experiences as the organization expands across locations, teams, and delivery models.
  • Ensure training programs build both technical competence and people skills, recognizing that successful performance at Wings requires employees to understand systems, procedures, policies, member needs, and relationship-centered service behaviors.
  • Establish and monitor measures of training effectiveness, including learner confidence, time to proficiency, business impact, quality outcomes, compliance readiness, employee engagement, and stakeholder satisfaction.
• Team Alignment and Leadership Expectations:
  • Provide leadership for training teams responsible for curriculum support, facilitation, technical training delivery, and ongoing employee upskilling.
  • Lead through change with clarity, empathy, and accountability, helping employees and leaders navigate transitions while maintaining business continuity and a positive learning experience.
  • Promote a culture of development, collaboration, inclusion, service, and continuous improvement across the training function and with business partners.
  • Lead with a strong business mindset by understanding financial services priorities, operational realities, risk considerations, lending objectives, member experience expectations, and the impact training has on performance outcomes.
  • Develop team members by providing coaching, feedback, growth opportunities, and clear expectations for performance, collaboration, and professionalism.
  • Foster an environment where technical expertise, operational excellence, member service, employee belonging, and organizational purpose are connected and reinforced through learning.
  • Balance business needs with human needs by creating training strategies that are practical, learner-centered, sustainable, and respectful of employee capacity, confidence, and development needs.
  • Model cultural values through daily leadership behaviors, decision-making, communication, coaching, and accountability.
• Bank Secrecy Act: Remains cognizant of and adheres to Wings policies and procedures, and regulations pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act.

Qualifications

Minimum Formal Qualifications for this Position:

• REQUIRED:  Bachelor's Degree Education, Communication, Psychology, English, or related field of study .
• REQUIRED: Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in training, learning and development, workforce education, operational training, or technical training functions, preferably within financial services, credit union, banking, lending, or a similarly regulated environment .
• REQUIRED:  Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience managing teams, managers, supervisors, facilitators, trainers, instructional partners, or cross-functional training initiatives .
• PREFERRED:  Minimum of 3 years of experience supporting technical systems training, operational processes, lending workflows, compliance requirements, policy and procedure education, and large-scale business change initiatives .

Technical or Specialized Knowledge/Skills:

• Strong business acumen with the ability to understand financial services operations, lending priorities, performance metrics, cost considerations, risk exposure, and strategic business objectives
• Strong coaching and people leadership skills, including the ability to develop talent, set expectations, provide feedback, support accountability, and build high-performing teams.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to use feedback, metrics, observations, operational results, and stakeholder input to improve training effectiveness.
• High technical aptitude with the ability to understand, explain, and support training for complex systems, platforms, workflows, digital tools, operational technologies, and system conversion initiatives
• Demonstrated ability to lead through ambiguity, prioritize competing demands, manage multiple initiatives, and make sound decisions that balance speed, quality, risk, and employee experience.

Additional Information

PAY RANGE: $135,000 to $158,000 Annually (S18), plus 15% annual target bonus.

Final compensation for this position will be determined by various factors such as relevant work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, certifications, location and internal pay equity.
