Clinical Educator

Clinical EducatorThe Clinical educator is part of the clinical education team with a primary focus on training LVTs in all departments. The clinical educator will focus on mentorship, curriculum development, lecturing, and implementation of an ongoing continuing education program.The Clinical Educator works in an LVT capacity approximately 60% of the time and oversees the onboarding, assessment, and clinical education of all staff working within the Schwarzman Animal Medical Center.Minimum Qualifications DesiredNYS Veterinary Technician licenseMinimum 5 years specialty nursing experience in a clinical environmentDemonstrated 2 years' experience mentoring and training veterinary technicians, student externs and internsBachelor's or Master's degree in teaching preferredVeterinary Technician specialty (VTS) preferredMust be able to collaborate with all team membersAbility to remain composed in stressful and emergency situationsMust be flexible about working additional hours when necessaryExcellent organizational, multi-tasking, and communication skills are essentialMust be able to follow detailed protocolsMust neatly and correctly fill out paperwork as necessaryEducation:Associate or bachelor's degree from an AVMA accredited Veterinary Technology schoolMaster's degree in education preferredExperience:Minimum 5 years' experience as an LVTAdvanced knowledge of surgical equipment necessaryLeadership experience requiredDuties and ResponsibilitiesEffectively teach a variety of clinical skills necessary for patient careTeach, mentor, and support LVT's in the clinical application of academic knowledgeTrain LVT's in hospital protocols, treatments, and technical dutiesTrain veterinary support staff in requested areas as necessary (ex.
