Description: The Clinical Nurse II is an RN who works as a full partner on the health care team. This role involves consistently demonstrating safe practice within the professional practice model. The Clinical Nurse II possesses the knowledge, skills, and attitude to meet standards for competent professional nursing practice. This nurse works closely with the inter-professional health care team to facilitate the coordination of care across the continuum. The nurse focuses on expanding knowledge and skills necessary for providing individualized care. This role requires effective management of complex patient care assignments. The individual demonstrates the ability to engage in problem-solving to address issues regarding the delivery of safe, high-quality care. The Clinical Nurse II evaluates and integrates evidence-based practices and research into clinical care. This includes generating clinical questions and applying the best current evidence to practice. The nurse participates in building consensus and resolving conflict in the context of patient care. Minimizing risk of harm to patients and families is a key responsibility of this role. The Clinical Nurse II serves as a resource person for safety concerns and demonstrates problem-solving skills. This role requires compliance with all regulations and standards of regulatory and accrediting bodies.
