Position Summary

The Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) plays a key role in supporting the dental team by providing high-quality chairside assistance, patient care, and administrative support. This position ensures a safe, efficient, and compassionate environment for both patients and providers while upholding the mission and values of Crossroads Family Care.

• Provide chairside assistance to dentists during examinations and procedures.

• Prepare and maintain dental instruments, equipment, and treatment rooms according to infection control and sterilization standards.

• Take, develop, and mount dental radiographs (X-rays) as directed.

• Accurately chart and maintain patient records within the electronic health system.

• Educate and comfort patients before, during, and after treatment, ensuring a positive experience.

• Monitor and maintain adequate dental supply inventory.

• Adhere to HIPAA regulations and organizational policies regarding patient confidentiality and professional conduct.

• Support overall clinic operations and assist team members as needed.

• Current Texas Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) license required.

• CPR certification required.

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.

• Knowledge of dental procedures, terminology, and equipment.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to build trust with patients of all ages.

• Organized, detail-oriented, and dependable.

• Prior experience in a community health or FQHC setting preferred, but not required.

• Fast-paced dental clinic environment.

• Frequent standing, walking, and assisting patients.

• Regular use of standard dental instruments and equipment.

• Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.
