Local Flatbed Truck Driver

Day Cab Flatbed Truck Operator

Operate a day cab flatbed truck on Southeast routes based out of Muscle Shoals, Alabama.

Requirements:

• Must have a valid Class A CDL.
• Must have 2 or more years of experience as a Class A CDL truck driver.
• Ability to operate equipment in a safe manner at all times.
• Knowledge of traffic laws and defensive driving.
• Ability to plan routes to ensure the best use of time and make overnight runs as required by shipping needs.
• Flatbed experience preferred (training is available)
• Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with employees, supervisors, and the general public.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Ability to work independently.

Essential Duties:

• Operate trucks rented and leased by the company to haul lumber and building products to our customers and suppliers.
• Provide outstanding customer service during delivery and pickup operations.
• Perform all duties in conformance with DOT standards.
• Maintain all certifications required by DOT.
• Keep all company property entrusted to you in clean and excellent condition.
• Operate a CMV on the road daily and be home daily (starting and ending each day in Muscle Shoals, Al.)
• Perform any other tasks assigned to support and improve overall team operations.

Physical Aspects of the Position:

• Requires prolonged sitting, driving, talking on a hands-free device, truck vibration, and MHE (material handling equipment) operations.
• Must be able to strap and tarp loads which may require climbing, balancing, stooping, crouching, crawling, walking, and lifting.
• Must be able to work and drive in severe weather conditions; heat and cold; snow and rain; wet or humid conditions; fumes or airborne particles.
• Must be able to lift/carry a minimum of 60 pounds or more.
