We would like to invite you to join our team and help us fulfill our mission by supporting persons who are differently abled to live their best life. SLS provides residential services to individuals living in group homes throughout Erie county.  Supportive Living Services is currently seeking responsible, caring, and dedicated people for Part-time Direct Support Professional (Caregivers) positions locally in the Erie community.  If you are seeking meaningful employment with a well established, progressive, and thoughtful organization and you meet the following qualifications please contact us to set up an interview.

Starting rate of $18 per hour

Paid training

Limited staff to client ratios

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 18 years of age or older
• Valid driver's license
• Acceptable motor vehicle history
• Acceptable criminal background history

Responsibilities of our Direct Support Professional positions include but may not be limited to:

• Relate, interact, and communicate positively with the individuals.
• Support and assist the individuals in developing skills that will further their independence and improve their quality of life.
• Administer and document medications according to agency and DPW policies.
• Conduct fire drills according to agency and DPW requirements.
• Adhere to all agency policies and procedures in regards to handling individual and miscellaneous house funds.
• Participate in the general upkeep of the individuals' homes and property.
• Prepare, or assist the individuals in preparing, family style meals.
  
• Provide any necessary transportation using agency vehicles and follow all applicable policies and procedures.

This position requires you to frequently stand, walk, climb stairs, squat, and bend. Must routinely lift 50 lbs or more. Must also assist with lifting individuals, and have the ability to monitor vital signs.
