Job Summary and Qualifications

Your responsibilities will include:

• Functions in the capacity of scrub tech, and monitor person for diagnostic and interventional procedures in the Cardiac Cath and EP Lab.
• Cares for patients post procedure with an RN or LPN.
• Takes EP and Cath lab/IR call as needed per hospital policy.
• Restocks and cleans work area to promote patient safety.
• Responsible for all phases of the DLX digital system.
• Transports and assists with the setup and throughput of patients.
• Actively participates in continuing education.
• Serves as a liaison for the Electrophysiology lab and the Cath Lab/IR lab to promote physician, interdepartmental and intradepartmental relationships.
• Utilizes equipment and performs special procedures competently as related to the Scope of Care for the Electrophysiology Lab and the Cath Lab/IR.
• Efficiently communicates verbal and written information, instruction or education to the patient, family members and other members of the health care team as appropriate.

What qualifications you will need:

EDUCATION:

Required: Graduate of a Cardiovascular Technology program – OR - three years of Cardiac Cath Lab experience, with 2 years Electrophysiology Lab experience.

LICENSURE AND CERTIFICATION:

• BLS for Healthcare Providers through AHA or CPR through the American Heart Association
• Registered Radiographer (ARRT) and State Registered Radiologic Technician

Preferred:

• Registered/licensed CVT, RT(R), RCIS, or RCES
• ACLS certification.
• CVT certification
• Current registration as Cardiovascular Credentialing International.

EXPERIENCE:

• 1 year in clinical program or 3 years Cardiac Cath Lab experience of which 2 years are Electrophysiology lab experience
• Experience with EKG, device implants, ablations, and electrophysiology study.
