Registered Nurse - NICU

Job Description

Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse in the NICU specializes in providing direct patient care for neonates in a level two special care nursery. This role involves collaborating with physicians to ensure the highest standard of neonatal care and support for both patients and families.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and monitor neonates' conditions to identify immediate and ongoing needs.
• Develop, implement, and document individualized care plans based on assessments and medical directives.
• Perform therapeutic nursing interventions tailored to neonatal health requirements.
• Manage patient care tasks efficiently while maintaining accurate and comprehensive documentation.
• Advocate for evidence-based neonatal care practices and support innovation in care delivery.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure coordinated, patient-centric care.

Qualifications:

• Hold a minimum of 3+ years of Mother-baby and neonatal experience, specifically caring for newborns.
• Possess a valid NJ State Professional Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license.
• Must have current BLS (American Heart Association) certification.
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required.
• Demonstrate experience working in a level two special care nursery with infants 32 weeks and above.
• Ability to work 3x12-hour shifts, every other weekend, with no on-call required.
