Facilities Maintenance Technician

Maintenance TechnicianThe Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and fully operational Planet Fitness club. This position performs preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and facility upkeep to ensure members and team members enjoy a positive experience in a clean, well-maintained environment. The Maintenance Technician will work closely with club management to complete work orders promptly, minimize equipment downtime, and uphold Planet Fitness brand standards.BenefitsHealth insurance, opportunity for advancement, paid time off, 401(k), employee discounts, flexible schedule.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesFacility Maintenance:Perform routine inspections of the club to identify maintenance needs and safety concerns.Complete preventative maintenance on fitness equipment and club facilities.Repair or coordinate repairs for cardio equipment, strength equipment, tanning beds, HydroMassage units, Total Body Enhancement machines, massage chairs, and other club amenities.Maintain HVAC systems, lighting, plumbing fixtures, electrical components, doors, locks, flooring, ceiling tiles, and walls.Ensure restrooms, locker rooms, showers, and common areas remain in excellent working condition.Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repairs.Equipment Maintenance:Diagnose and repair fitness equipment to minimize downtime.Perform scheduled lubrication, adjustments, calibration, and replacement of worn components.Maintain accurate maintenance logs for all equipment inspections and repairs.Coordinate with approved vendors for warranty repairs and specialized service.Preventative Maintenance:Follow established preventative maintenance schedules.Conduct regular inspections of life safety equipment, emergency lighting, fire extinguishers, AEDs, and exit signs.Monitor equipment performance and recommend replacement or upgrades when necessary.Ensure all maintenance work complies with company standards and local building codes.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Knowledge of hand and power tools.Ability to read maintenance manuals and technical documentation.Excellent organizational and time management skills.Ability to prioritize multiple work orders.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Basic computer skills for completing work orders and maintenance logs.Physical Requirements:Frequently lift, push, and pull up to 75 pounds.Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and work overhead for extended periods.Comfortable working in varying temperatures and confined spaces when necessary.Ability to safely operate maintenance equipment and tools.Work Schedule:Full-time position.Flexible schedule including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.On-call availability for emergency maintenance situations may be required.Performance Expectations:Completion of preventative maintenance schedules.Response time to maintenance requests.Equipment uptime and operational readiness.Quality and timeliness of repairs.Club cleanliness and facility condition.Safety compliance.Documentation accuracy.Teamwork and professionalism.Planet Fitness Core Values:Creating a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.Delivering a Judgement Free Zone® experience.Demonstrating reliability, accountability, and professionalism.Supporting team members and members with respect and courtesy.Maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and operational excellence.Compensation: $18.50 - $23.50 per hour
