EMS Liaison Paramedic PRN

Position Summary EMS Liaison Paramedic, on‑call, to be based at Texas Health Plano. The role serves as a representative to foster relationships with EMS agencies, improve EMS processes within the Emergency Department, and support the Hospital’s commitment to community outreach. Clinical/Business Operations Coordinated monitoring and evaluation of technical and quality aspects of emergency medical services activities. Acted as liaison with other emergency medical service providers and governing agencies, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and providing assistance or guidance as necessary. Served as liaison between EMS and ER leadership when needed. Represented the entity at regional and statewide EMS meetings, conferences, and seminars as required. Participated in city‑wide educational symposia for caregivers and EMS agencies. Assisted in curriculum development, marketing events, and maintained required training records or rosters. Program Management Supported and assisted business‑growth strategies for EMS services to advance the tertiary care facility strategy. Facilitated team projects related to programmatic growth, acting as a subject‑matter expert for Texas Health entities seeking to enhance their EMS services. Provided departmental and entity resources and expertise in the field of EMS in the absence of the program manager. Quality and Performance Improvement Utilized data collection and reporting tools to monitor and evaluate quality metrics and report outcomes. Identified opportunities for improvement in medical response, patient or employee safety, supplies, equipment, and new practice methodologies in collaboration with the program manager. Worked with system or entity representatives to implement solutions addressing identified gaps. Monitored changes in state or federal regulations, maintaining recommendations for new or revised procedures to ensure regulatory compliance. Analyzed data to identify trends or opportunities for improvement and recommended appropriate actions. Applied PDSA processes for continuous improvement and/or sustained results. Financial Operations Prepared training time and cost estimates related to the implementation of new procedures or guidelines. Managed the approved budget through frequent and regular monitoring. Professional Accountability Participated in hospital initiatives such as fundraising and community events. Served on hospital and system‑based committees as appropriate. Maintained current licensure and certification as required by the position. Adhered to hospital and system policies, completed mandatory training and annual health screenings timely, and maintained a safe work environment. Recognized and communicated ethical and legal concerns through established channels. Maintained confidentiality at all times and performed other related work as reasonably requested. Paramedic Responsibilities Provided safe patient care under physician delegation and competency sign‑off. Addressed privacy, confidentiality, safety, physical, psychological, cognitive, religious, and social needs of patients. Applied population‑specific safety and infection‑control measures in patient care. Communicated with and involved family or caregivers in health‑care decisions. Worked collaboratively within the interdisciplinary healthcare team and promoted cost‑effective care. Actively participated in shared governance, seeking solutions for unit, division, or entity concerns. Pursued professional development through evidence‑based practices, quality improvement, research, and adherence to regulatory guidelines. Aimed to meet departmental and hospital KPIs related to patient outcomes, customer satisfaction, financial performance, organizational effectiveness, and community health care. Education High School Diploma or Equivalent Experience Minimum two years of recent experience in emergency medical services, pre‑hospital emergency medicine, or a related clinical discipline. Firefighter or EMS Paramedic experience required; strongly preferred. Licenses and Certifications EMT‑P (Emergency Medical Technician‑Paramedic) required upon hire. LP (Licensed Paramedic) preferred upon hire. Skills Effective, professional communication across disciplines with patients, staff, physicians, volunteers, and other constituents.
