Position Overview Travel Respiratory Therapist Company: Fusion Medical Staffing Location: Facility in Largo, Florida Job Details Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist for a 13‑week travel assignment in Largo, Florida. Required Qualifications One year of recent experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the NBRC Valid respiratory therapy license in compliance with state regulations Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC) Preferred Qualifications ACLS or PALS Certification (AHA/ARC) Other certifications and licenses may be required Summary A Registered Respiratory Therapist provides advanced respiratory care to patients with complex pulmonary disorders and critical illnesses. RRTs assess, treat, and manage patients with a wide range of respiratory conditions, collaborating with physicians and healthcare teams to deliver life‑saving therapies and patient‑centered care. Essential Work Functions Collaborate with physicians to develop patient treatment plans Examine and interview patients with breathing and/or cardiopulmonary disorders Perform diagnostic tests, such as measuring lung capacity or collecting blood/sputum samples Treat patients through various methods including chest physiotherapy and aerosol medications Set up and monitor equipment to ensure correct oxygen delivery Observe and record patient status and progress Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure appropriate patient care Educate patients and/or family members on medication and equipment use Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of RRT practice Required Essential Skills Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills Ability to read, write, and communicate in English Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills Physical Abilities Remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50‑100 lbs), push, pull, and bend Interpersonal Skills Work effectively with a variety of personnel, presenting a positive attitude and professionalism Technical/Motor Skills Grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment Mental Requirements Cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure Work under close supervision occasionally, as well as independently Handle irregular activity schedules and maintain continuous concentration on detail Sensory Possess visual acuity and ability to effectively communicate Benefits Highly competitive pay for travel professionals Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance with first‑day coverage Paid Time Off (PTO) after 1560 hours Life and short‑term disability offered 401(k) matching Aggressive refer‑a‑friend bonus program 24/7 recruiter support Reimbursement for licensure and CEUs Why Choose Fusion We aim to improve the lives of everyone we touch, and we’re always looking for people like you to join our mission.
