SLP / Speech Language Pathologist
Ignite the Power of Communication in the Sunshine State Join Us as a Speech Language Pathologist
Imagine a position where your profession becomes a means to voice purpose quite literally! As a Speech Language Pathologist in one of Florida's most captivating locations, your role extends beyond the treatment of communication and swallowing disorders. You will foster potential, renew confidence, and build bridges of human connection from the first utterances of young children to the efforts of older adults reclaiming their voices.
This position offers a distinctive chance to impact a diverse array of individuals across various life stages in an environment that seamlessly integrates outpatient therapy with select inpatient opportunities. Whether your heart lies in nurturing pediatric speech development, addressing adult neurogenic communication challenges, or embarking on geriatric linguistic rehabilitation, you will find both challenge and satisfaction in this role.
Assess diverse patient populations including pediatric, adult, and geriatric using a blend of standardized assessments and observational techniques.
Craft customized treatment plans that cater to both immediate aspirations and long-range communication, cognitive, or swallowing requirements.
Administer individualized speech therapy sessions focused on enhancing communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing capabilities.
Collaborate closely with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, medical practitioners, caregivers, and families to ensure cohesive care strategies.
Provide education to patients and their families to facilitate ongoing progress beyond therapeutic sessions.
Participate in occasional inpatient therapy evaluations and interventions, maintaining continuity of care throughout each patient's journey.
Ensure precise and timely documentation in compliance with all relevant state, federal, and organizational regulations.
Commit to lifelong learning through continuing education and collaboration with peers.
A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
Successful completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY), if not yet ASHA-certified.
Valid state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification needed within 30 days of starting employment.
Expertise in evidence-based treatment methods across all age groups, coupled with a robust understanding of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
Strong interpersonal communication skills to engage effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary care teams.
Ability to tailor therapy approaches to honor diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
Sound clinical judgment and adept problem-solving skills.
Familiarity with electronic medical records and documentation practices.
Competitive salary reflective of your experience.
Flexible scheduling options to maintain a healthy work-life balance with varying patient caseloads.
Possibilities for specialization in pediatrics, adult neuro rehabilitation, or geriatric care.
Generous paid time off (PTO) and holiday compensation.
Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance choices.
Support for continuing education initiatives and professional growth.
A collaborative, team-oriented workplace culture prioritizing quality care and continuous learning.
A Career That Inspires Movement and Moves You
Within this role, you won't merely provide therapy; you'll join a community-centered mission dedicated to restoring voices, enhancing communication, and creating memorable moments through the power of understanding and connection.
Here, you will collaborate with fellow clinicians who treat one another like family, in an environment that values teamwork over rivalry. Every patient has a unique narrative; we entrust you with the opportunity to influence how their journeys unfold.
