Civil Engineer

Civil Engineer Department: Civil/Municipal Employment Type: Full Time Location: Belleville, IL Compensation: $60,000 - $75,000 / year Description We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Civil Engineer to join our growing team. This entry-level role offers an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate to gain hands‑on experience in both CAD design and field inspection activities, with responsibilities evenly divided between office‑based drafting and site‑based project support. Working alongside experienced professionals, the selected candidate will contribute to a variety of infrastructure and land development projects while developing technical, design, and construction observation skills. Your Primary Responsibilities will include: Prepare and revise engineering drawings, plans, and exhibits using AutoCAD Civil 3D. Assist with civil design projects, including site development, grading, utilities, and related infrastructure improvements. Conduct field inspections and site visits to verify construction activities comply with project plans and specifications. Document field observations, prepare inspection reports, and communicate findings to project teams. Support project engineers with design calculations, technical reports, and project documentation. Collaborate with internal teams, clients, and contractors to support project delivery. Maintain accurate project records and adhere to company quality and safety standards. What you'll need: Required: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering 0 to 3 years of related experience. Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D or similar drafting software. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as needed. Preferred: Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain within six months of hire. Internship, co‑op, or academic project experience related to civil engineering design or construction inspection. Familiarity with land development, transportation, utility, or infrastructure projects.
