Cardiology Physician Job Requirements

• Board certification in Cardiology
• At least 1 year of cardiology experience; 1–2 years preferred
• Active North Carolina physician license
• Current DEA registration
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications
• Recent experience with Epic or a comparable electronic medical record system
• Ability to provide overnight and weekend cardiology coverage according to the outlined schedule

Locum Tenens Cardiology Physician Responsibilities

• Provide cardiology consultations upon request for adult hospital patients
• Deliver evaluation and management services for patients admitted to the cardiology service
• Interpret echocardiograms and nuclear cardiology studies performed in the hospital
• Provide overnight and weekend coverage while serving as second call
• Document patient care accurately in Epic
• Maintain a manual log of all professional charges
• Collaborate with the inpatient care team and on-call specialists to support safe, timely cardiac care
• Perform consultative services and diagnostic interpretation; procedural services are not required for this opportunity
