Electronic Technician

Electronic TechnicianPrideStaff is currently seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Electronic Technician to assemble, test, troubleshoot, calibrate, and repair electronic products and components for a client in Libertyville, IL. This position works with electronic circuitry, printed circuit boards, test equipment, and production documentation to ensure products meet company quality and performance standards. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, comfortable working with small electronic components, and able to troubleshoot electrical and electronic problems using schematics, test procedures, and measuring equipment. Schedule: 1st shift M-F, 6:30am-2:30pm Position Status: Full-time, Temp to Hire Pay: Starting at $50k (fully dependent on experience)Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesAssemble electronic products, printed circuit boards, components, and related hardware according to drawings, work instructions, and specifications.Test and troubleshoot electronic assemblies and finished products to identify component, wiring, or circuit-related problems.Perform calibration and functional testing of electronic instruments and products.Read and interpret electronic schematics, wiring diagrams, assembly drawings, and technical documentation.Use electronic test equipment such as digital multimeters, power supplies, oscilloscopes, signal generators, and other diagnostic equipment.Perform soldering and desoldering of through-hole and surface-mount electronic components as required.Diagnose defective components and perform repairs or component replacement.Inspect completed work for proper assembly, workmanship, and compliance with quality standards.Accurately record test results, repairs, calibration information, and production documentation.Follow established manufacturing procedures, quality-control requirements, and ESD-safe handling practices.Assist with identifying recurring product or production issues and communicate findings to engineering, production, or management.Maintain an organized and clean work area.Properly use and maintain tools, test equipment, and production equipment.Assist other departments with electronic troubleshooting or technical issues when needed.Perform other related duties as assigned.QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent required.Technical school, associate degree, certificate, or coursework in electronics, electrical technology, or a related field preferred.Previous experience in electronics manufacturing, electronic assembly, testing, calibration, or repair preferred.Ability to read and understand electronic schematics and wiring diagrams.Basic understanding of electronic components, including resistors, capacitors, diodes, transistors, integrated circuits, and power supplies.Ability to use a digital multimeter and other common electronic test equipment.Soldering experience preferred.Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Good attention to detail and ability to perform precise work.Ability to follow written procedures, drawings, and verbal instructions.Basic computer skills and ability to accurately enter or record production and test information.Ability to work independently as well as part of a production team.Physical RequirementsAbility to sit or stand at a workstation for extended periods.Ability to perform detailed work involving small electronic components and hand tools.Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.Ability to lift and move materials or equipment associated with normal production activities.Desired SkillsExperience with any of the following is beneficial:Electronic instrumentationIndustrial process-control equipmentSignal conditioning4-20 mA current loopsVoltage and current measurementTemperature or sensor instrumentationCalibration equipmentPCB troubleshooting and repairQuality-control testingManufacturing or production environmentsCompensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $50,000.00 - $50,000.00All compensation and pay rates are dependent upon skills and experience.
