CDL A Truck Driver

Position: CDL A Truck Driver Pay: $26.00 - $36.00 per hour Position Overview We are looking for a dedicated truck driver to transport and dump materials such as stone, asphalt, and other materials for our paving construction projects. The driver must assist others, follow safety guidelines, and work as a team member. Essential Functions Performs daily truck equipment inspections per FMCSA guidelines. Completes written daily inspection report and submits maintenance requests. Maintains truck logs or time recordings per state, federal, and company policies. Assists with proper loading of materials. Weighs in and out at scales for load ticketing and legal weight compliance. Operates truck safely to and from project destinations. Makes contact with dispatch center for instructions. Pulls levers or turns cranks to tilt body and dump contents. Maneuvers controls for movement of the truck. Tarp loads for transit. Chocks wheels per company guidelines. Maintains cargo area free of debris and cleans interior and exterior of the truck. Inspects load for loose debris prior to transport. Performs post‑trip vehicle inspections and reports deficiencies. Performs all safety procedures required by governmental agencies and by Ruston Paving. All other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Excitement and motivation for the workday ahead. Reads and comprehends simple instructions, memos, and correspondence. Effectively presents information to customers and employees. Maintains reliable attendance schedule. Handles problems involving deviations from standardized procedures. Can perform job in adverse field and weather conditions. Education and Experience Any combination of education and work experience that demonstrates the knowledge and ability to perform the work. Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL A, CDL A Restricted, or CDL B). USDOT Medical Examiner’s Certificate. Minimum of 2 years of experience transporting heavy construction equipment and/or materials for paving and/or site excavation. Benefits Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP). Physical Requirements Regularly sit; use hands, reach, talk, and hear; noise level generally loud. Occasionally stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Occasionally lift/move up to 60 lbs. Vision: close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, focus adjustment. Quick arm and leg movement. Excellent stamina.
