Physical Therapist

Part Time Physical TherapistThe Part Time Physical Therapist will be responsible for providing PT evaluation on individuals annually in areas of muscle tone and/or strength, range of motion, reflex patterns, gross motor capacity, posture and joint alignment, patterns of locomotion and/or ambulation, activities of daily living.Schedule: 10 hours weekly - must be able to provide a consistent schedule within school hours, between 8:30 AM and 3:30 PM Monday thru FridayEssential Duties of Physical Therapist Part-TimeKey duties of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:The Physical Therapist (PT) will:Develop a treatment plan and goal based on assessmentSelect educational, recreational and social activities in order to aid consumers in adjusting to their disabilityTeach adaptive skills necessary to perform daily living and/or vocational tasksParticipate in in-service education for other patient care personnel relevant to techniques and objectives of the programParticipate in interdisciplinary team meetings and annual reviews as required by each programIntegrate therapeutic intervention techniques into programs or home of person served through consultation with parent/guardian and staff at team meetings, case conferences or through other informal contactsDocument therapy activities and results on consumers' records, assist in overall evaluation and rehabilitation of consumers' medical/psychiatric condition by conferring with social workers, nurses and other clinical staffRecord progress on all active cases in therapy, monitors therapy status, and makes appropriate recommendations as changes occurPerform other duties, as neededSupports overall strategic plan of the organizationAbility to adhere to our organization's core values and commitmentsEssential Qualifications of Physical Therapist Part-TimeKey qualifications include:Master's Degree in Physical TherapyCurrent NYS Physical Therapist (PT) licenseGood oral and written communication skillsEmotional intelligenceAbility to access and utilize ADP app on smartphone or other device for access to agency programsPhysical/Travel Requirements of Physical Therapist Part-TimeMust possess ability to sit, stand, walk, run, climb stairs, kneel, and lifts weights of up to 30lbs.Candidates who are successfully hired, must participate in our Therapeutic Crisis Intervention training which concludes with a written and verbal test, and you will be evaluated on conducting a proper physical restraint.The employee must be able to meet these requirements with or without a reasonable accommodation.DisclaimerNothing in this job description restricts Andrus' right to modify the duties/responsibilities of this job at any time, with or without advanced notice.EEO StatementAndrus is an equal opportunity employer.
