Cnc Machinist

Job Description

Our company specializes in the design, fabrication, and testing of lightweight structures. We are seeking skilled CNC Machinists to join our team, responsible for setting up and operating various CNC machines using Fanuc controllers, including both 3, 4, and 5-axis machines. The role involves high-quality, low-volume machining of metal, composite, and graphite parts in an aerospace production environment.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate production machine tools.
• Select and mount appropriate tooling for machining operations.
• Determine the appropriate feed and operating speeds for efficient machining.
• Perform cut off, trimming, counter sinking, drilling, and other machining operations.
• Verify the dimensional accuracy of machined parts using measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
• Interpret blueprints and technical drawings to understand machining requirements.
• Utilize shop math skills to perform calculations and ensure accurate machining processes.
• Transfer computer files to the numeric controller to initiate machining operations.
• Monitor machine operations and make necessary adjustments to maintain quality and productivity.
• Conduct routine maintenance and cleaning of machines to ensure proper functioning.
• Identify and communicate any issues or concerns regarding machine performance or product quality.
• Maintain accurate documentation of machining operations, including production logs and inspection records.

Essential Skills

• 3-5 years of machining experience with both setting up and running CNC machines.
• Ability to read and interpret work instructions and technical diagrams.
• Operating CNC machines using Fanuc and Siemens controllers (3 and 5 axis).
• Strong knowledge of G-Code.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Working knowledge of CAM software: Mastercam & Verisurf (nice to have).
• Machining Certificate.

Work Environment

Our CNC Machinists work fully onsite with a rotating schedule that includes every other Friday off. We have one first shift position and two swing shift positions. Enjoy a supportive and well-equipped work environment with the latest technologies.

This is a Permanent position based out of Stockton, CA.

The pay range for this position is $48840.00 - $70000.00/yr.
