If youre a solutions-driven, passionate change-maker, come join us in positively impacting the lives of millions of people world-wide for a better future./ppThe International Rescue Committee (IRC) in Richmond opened its doors in October 2015 to give refugee families the tools they need to take control over their new lives in the greater Richmond area, assisting them toward self-sufficiency, self-reliance, and community integration./ph3Scope Of Financial Capabilities Intern Work:/h3pThe Economic Empowerment intern works with IRC Financial Coaches to provide educational tools and resources, financial coaching, and guidance to clients accessing IRC loan products to meet client-identified goals to increase their financial capability./ph3Responsibilities:/h3ulliSupport facilitation of credit education and financial literacy training with clients/liliSupport continued curriculum development for workshops covering financial literacy topics/liliResearch local agencies and organizations to expand community partnerships for client referrals and support advocacy efforts/liliDevelop personal finance tools and resources, including translatable user guides, to share with clients/liliAssist clients with IRCs Center for Economic Opportunity (CEO) loan applications and access to bank accounts/liliAttend staff meetings, team meetings, and training related to the position/liliProvide general administrative support/li/ulh3Minimum Qualifications:/h3ulliStrong interest in working with international clients/liliFamiliarity with a coaching model and related activities/liliProven ability to work with consideration and respect for globally varied backgrounds and experiences/liliExcellent communication and organization skills/liliAbility to work independently/liliComputer skills, including Microsoft Office programs and internet research/liliEnthusiasm for helping people to learn and demonstrated professionalism/liliInterns must be able to work at least 15 hours a week for at least three months/liliValid drivers license and access to an insured vehicle preferred/li/ulpThis position is unpaid and reports to the Financial Coaches./pp*The IRC and IRC workers must adhere to the values and principles outlined in the IRC Way Standards for Professional Conduct.
