This position ensures trenches are excavated and prepped according to specifications, aligns pipes, seals joints, and works closely with the pipe crew to install water and sewer mains. The hourly pay rate is dependent on experience.What You'll DoSet up lasers with grades and verify percentage slopes on drawingsConfigure pipe routes, align pipeline sections, and ensure proper spacing and alignmentGrade trenches or culverts and install manholes, valves, and fittingsSeal joints and ensure proper fit and alignment using grade rods or transit levelsCover installed pipes with soil or other materials to secure them in placeWork with various materials including PVC, metal, HDPE, and fiberglass pipesOperate hand and power tools as required for trenching and installationFollow all required safety rules, policies, and guidelinesPerform other duties as assigned by the supervisorThis job summary is intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by individuals assigned to this position. It is not intended to be an exhaustive list of responsibilities, duties, and skills required.What We're Looking For3–5 years of experience in water and sewer utility constructionExperience setting up to 48" sewer and installing fiberglass manholesExperience with bypass pumping preferredKnowledge of working with PVC, metal, HDPE, or fiberglass pipesBasic knowledge of operating hand and power toolsPhysical ability to perform assigned labor-related tasks (lifting, climbing, bending, standing)Flexibility to work days, nights, and weekends as neededDependable, self-motivated, and able to work well within a team environmentAt Zachry, we invest in our people because they're the foundation of our success.
