Essential Duties and Responsibilities This description intends to describe the general nature and level of work performed by teammates assigned to this job. Sales Generation and Guest Service Greet guests with a friendly, engaging attitude, consistently delivering legendary service. Answer questions regarding the store and its merchandise. Recommend, select, and help locate or obtain merchandise based on guests’ needs. Anticipate and fulfill guests’ needs by suggesting additional items and creating a wardrobe experience. Demonstrate products using knowledge and sales education, sharing this knowledge with teammates. Maintain and share knowledge of current sales, promotions, payment policies, and security practices. Remain consistent on personal sales and seek opportunities to impact teammates’ presentations with the Sales Presentation Guide. Achieve personal sales‑per‑hour, average sales, and total net sales goals set by store management. Provide service throughout the store – Front 5, sales floor, fitting rooms, and register area. Assist guests with fitting and try‑on. Check out and bag purchases. Prepare merchandise for alterations. Know all exchange and return procedures, turning these into showmanship opportunities. Use the Sales Presentation Guide daily to accomplish goals. Meet or exceed performance standards across key Buckle business builders and guest loyalty metrics. Place special orders or call other stores to find desired merchandise. Build good guest relationships to develop a client‑based business. Maintain knowledge of Buckle’s customer service expectations to meet guest needs. Lead by action and maintain high standards, even when manager is absent. Team Member Recruiting, Training and Development Identify recruiting opportunities using Jobs & Careers cards, email referrals, and teammate recommendations. Build relationships through Guest Loyalty and Guest Preferred programs. Maintain a professional and respectful attitude, creating a positive floor culture. Present merchandise to maximize sales and achieve optimal turnover. Stay current on product range. Collaborate with teammates and guests on product improvements, new ideas, and feedback. Ensure the sales floor is consistently sized and new freight displayed appropriately. Operations Work a flexible schedule including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holiday shifts. Open and close cash registers, handle cash, coupons, vouchers, balance drawers, and make deposits. Identify and manage security risks and prevent theft. Follow loss‑prevention guidelines, including bag and purse checks. Maintain knowledge of POS procedures. Execute policies regarding payments, exchanges, and loss prevention practices. Perform merchandising tasks: handling freight, re‑merchandising, display preparation, markdowns, transfers. Keep store clean, organized, and shoppable. Provide feedback to store manager and leadership team on merchandise handling concerns. Report policy violations and teammate or guest concerns confidentially to manager, district manager, and/or HR. Apply Buckle’s Code of Ethics and all related policies. Complete special projects or other duties as assigned. Physical Demands Requires ability to stand, walk, use hands for handling and reach, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and occasionally sit. Ability to lift and maneuver 30 lbs. Vision: close, distance, color, peripheral, depth. Works in moderate noise environment. Education and Experience No prior experience or training required.
