Embedded Software Engineer - Santa Clara, CA We are seeking a contractor with strong embedded software development and software architecture experience to support documentation and system design activities for automotive software projects. The primary responsibility is to analyze existing source code and fragmented technical documentation, organize the information, and create standardized engineering artifacts such as software requirements specifications and software architecture documents. ## Key Responsibilities - Review and analyze existing software source code and technical documentation.
- Extract system behavior, software requirements, and architectural information from legacy artifacts.
- Reorganize and document technical content using predefined corporate templates and standards.
- Develop and maintain:
- Software Requirements Specifications (SRS)
- Software Architecture Design Documents
- Software Design Specifications
- Interface Specifications
- Collaborate with software engineers and technical leads to validate requirements and architecture descriptions.
- Ensure consistency and traceability between source code, requirements, and architecture documentation.
- Support documentation improvement and knowledge management activities. ## Required Qualifications - 5+ years of software development experience using the C programming language.
- Hands-on experience developing embedded software systems.
- Experience designing software architectures for embedded systems.
- Proven experience creating software architecture documentation.
- Ability to understand and analyze existing source code and reverse-engineer system behavior.
- Strong technical writing and documentation skills.
- Experience working with software development lifecycle processes. ## Preferred Qualifications - Automotive software development experience.
- Knowledge of AUTOSAR architecture.
- Experience with requirements engineering and traceability.
- Familiarity with Automotive SPICE, ISO 26262, or ISO/SAE 21434.
- Experience creating system requirements and software architecture specifications.
