Structural Steel MIG Welding TechnicianGot questions? Here are the answers.What will I do?Perform MIG welding on steel and other metals, following exact specifications.Use blueprints, drawings, and work orders to guide fabrication and assembly.Build, assemble, and repair metal structures and components.Verify weld quality and dimensional accuracy; correct issues as needed.Operate welders, cutting tools, and fabrication equipment with safety and efficiency.Keep your workspace organized and compliant with safety procedures.Work closely with teammates and supervisors to hit production goals on time.What experience do I need?Previous MIG welding experience is required.At least two years of welding experience in a manufacturing environment.Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.Attention to detail and a strong commitment to producing quality work.Knowledge of welding safety practices and procedures.Capability to lift, carry, and handle metal materials in a production environment.Problem-solving mindset; comfortable working independently or collaboratively.What does a typical day look like?You’ll review the day’s work orders, set up your MIG parameters for steel, prepare materials, and move through fit-up, tacking, and welding.
