Role Description The Senior Analyst is a full-time, on-site role based at Columbia University Irving Medical Center in New York, United States. This role is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting complex data sets to support clinical operations, research initiatives, and administrative decision-making. Day-to-day tasks include developing and maintaining reports and dashboards, performing quantitative and qualitative analyses, and identifying trends and insights that improve efficiency, quality of care, and strategic planning. The Senior Analyst collaborates closely with clinical, research, and administrative teams to translate business questions into analytical frameworks, document requirements, and present findings in clear, actionable formats. The role also involves ensuring data integrity, supporting data governance efforts, and recommending process improvements based on evidence-driven insights. Qualifications Strong analytical and quantitative skills, including experience with data analysis, statistical methods, and performance measurement. Proficiency with analytical and reporting tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, business intelligence platforms such as Tableau or Power BI, or similar tools). Experience working with healthcare, academic, or research data sets and an understanding of data privacy and compliance standards (e.g., HIPAA). Ability to translate complex data into clear visualizations, reports, and presentations for diverse stakeholders. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and build effective relationships across clinical, research, and administrative units. Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Data Analytics, Public Health, Health Administration, Business, Statistics, or a related discipline; advanced degree is a plus.
