Systems Engineering Manager

Systems Engineering Manager, Boeing Defense, Space, and Security (BDS). Location: Oklahoma City, OK. The role focuses on leading a team of engineers to accomplish the Systems Engineering scope of work for the Executive Transport and Surveillance (ET&S) portfolio within the Mobility, Surveillance & Bombers Division. Position Responsibilities Responsible for the cost, schedule, and technical execution of the Systems Engineering Statement of Work, including requirements, architecture, interfaces, verification, and technical performance management. Develop and maintain relationships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, and direct reports. Partner with the SEIT leader, Program Management, Program Chief Engineer, and Program Teams. Manage, coach, mentor, and motivate employees; provide developmental feedback; recognize contributions to improve satisfaction and retain talent. Develop project or operational plans aligned to MS&B objectives, implement them, adjust as needed, resolve issues, and monitor metrics. Forecast resource needs and manage personnel, facilities, services, equipment, and tools to meet project and operational requirements. Proactively communicate project status, conduct and participate in team meetings, provide presentations, and listen to employee concerns. Manage Systems Engineering execution across the program and lead resolution of critical program issues. Ensure cross‑functional team performance and on‑time delivery within allocated budgets. Basic Qualifications (Required) At least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temporary manager, large‑scale cross‑functional project/program management, or formal manager) or completion of Boeing’s internal course “Exploring Leadership.” Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, engineering technology (including manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science. Eight or more years of experience with engineering of large or small‑scale systems and overall systems engineering disciplines. Two or more years of experience leading multidisciplinary engineering and integration teams. Excellent understanding of systems engineering and experience developing and managing processes. Hands‑on experience planning and conducting major program milestone reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, FCA) and using the Boeing Enterprise Standard Gate Process. Preferred Qualifications (Desired) Hands‑on experience with architecture and requirement definition, analysis, integration, and management. Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a strategic mindset. Experience with budget management and resource allocation. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to engage stakeholders at all levels and present to program leaders and customers. Demonstrated experience taking initiative, leading cross‑functional teams, working across organizational boundaries, and ensuring an inclusive environment. Position Requirements Must be a U.S. citizen and eligible to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance (interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance). The position is 100% onsite in Oklahoma City, OK, and scheduled for 1st shift. Relocation Relocation assistance is offered for eligible candidates.
