Job Title: Emergency Room Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room Nurse Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: 2 years License: Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), STABLE, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Must-Have: - Current RN license - BLS certification (or obtained within ninety days of hire) - ACLS certification (or obtained within six months of hire) - PALS or ENPC certification (or obtained within one year of hire) - TNCC certification (or obtained within one year of hire) - STABLE certification (or obtained within one year of hire) - NRP certification (or obtained within one year of hire) - Bachelor’s degree or higher in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related field - Two years hospital nursing experience Description: To coordinate and implement an individualized plan of care for each patient using the nursing process. Practicing within their scope, standards, policies, values, and mission of the organization. Plans, implements, and evaluates patient care plans based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources. Requires prioritization and critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment. Complies with triage, treatment, evaluation, and documentation guidelines. Uses evidence-based practices and competence to collaborate with the healthcare team. Provides quality outcomes and coordinates patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs. Identifies barriers to effective communication based on psychosocial, literacy, financial, and cultural considerations. Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstance. Effectively delegates patient care to ancillary personnel. May precept student nurses and new hires. Practices according to professional and ethical standards. Demonstrates caring attitudes and behaviors to develop therapeutic relationships. Engages in patient and family teaching as appropriate. Performs other duties as assigned. Demonstrates full commitment to organizational values. Establishes and maintains effective verbal and written communication. Fosters positive working relationships with patients, staff, and vendors. Adheres to attire and dress code in accordance with organizational policies and procedures. Exhibits initiative and self-motivation; maintains a consistent level of productivity. Completes all required annual education, training, and licensure/certification updates. Actively participates in departmental and organizational meetings. Maintains strict patient confidentiality at all times. Reports to work punctually and completes assigned duties within established timeframes.
