Warehouse Associate

We are currently seeking a reliable self-starter who enjoys working as a member of a team to join our operations department as a full-time Warehouse Associate. This position is very physical, and requires accurate building, stacking, and wrapping of network partner orders, sorting donated items, and moving loaded pallets throughout the warehouse. Other essential responsibilities in this position include assisting with ensuring a complete and accurate inventory, completing all necessary paperwork for distributions, and maintaining a clean and safe warehouse. Primary/Essential Duties and Responsibilities Build orders (consisting of about 50 - 80-pound boxes) correctly for network partner orders. Manually stack and wrap pallets safely and correctly. Move loaded pallets safely throughout the warehouse whether coming in from deliveries or going out for distribution. Assist drivers with loading/unloading trucks. Complete paperwork on received and/or distributed items by the vendor and according to AACFB guidelines and ensure all paperwork is turned in to the designated department before the end of the day. Ensure order accuracy through adherence to organization’s inventory, including but not limited to the inspecting and counting and/or weighing products on orders being received and distributed to be sure the order matches the paperwork. Maintain FIFO/FEFO with inventory, rotating pallets of stock as needed. Maintain a safe and sanitary warehouse with OSHA/MOSH and USDA standards. Handle product in a manner consistent with food safety procedures and follow organizational safety policies, and procedures at all times. Secondary/Non-Essential Duties and Responsibilities Make sure end-of-day cleaning is completed. Other duties as assigned. Education and Experience High School Diploma/GED required. Experience in stock inventory procedures, FIFO, preferred. Experience safely operating a manual pallet jack, electric pallet jack, preferred. Experience working in a team environment (e.g., cooperating with co-workers, joint problem-solving, etc.) Ability to establish and maintain professional and positive work relationships with staff, volunteers, and visitors. Ability to perform accurate arithmetic calculations using basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division by hand or using a calculator. Ability to use a computer and various software programs to track inventory, retrieve information, etc. Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks with minimal guidance. Ability to focus on incoming and outgoing deliveries as well as inventory. Ability to think on one's feet in rapidly changing environments. Work Environment and Requirements Temperature-Controlled Warehouse. Minimum visual acuity of 20/50 (or corrected to 20/50). Able to move, push, load, and unload pallets using a manual or electric pallet jack. Able to lift, carry and move materials weighing 25-80 pounds with or without accommodation. Walking, standing, climbing, squatting, bending, lifting, and kneeling are all required physical aspects of the job. Periodically work in temperatures as low as -20 degrees in cold storage sites for short, safe periods of time. Must be able to work around cleaning chemicals, for example, chlorine and sanitizer. Ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and/or other sounds (e.g., machinery alarms, or alarms) in moderate to loud work environments. Employee may be exposed to spoiled food and sharp objects due to working with damaged products. Must be able to work in environments with variable noise levels, lighting conditions, and temperature variation and able to access all areas of the building without limitations. Must be able to speak, read, and write in English at an 8th grade level. Ability to work on feet for 8 hours. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Ability to visually inspect the contents of deliveries to ensure they are not damaged before accepting the delivery or calling it to the supervisor's attention. Must have reliable transportation. Must represent the AACFB in a professional manner. Must be punctual, dependable, and reliable - excellent attendance is crucial. Criminal background check is required, and references/previous employment history will be validated. Salary and Benefits Salary Range $18.00 - $22.00 per hour, pay commensurate with experience.
