The dual-role professional acts as the primary point of contact for patients. Primarily greet visitors, handle check-in and check-out procedures, manage multi-line phone calls, verify insurance, and schedule appointments, while also stepping into clinical spaces to room patients, record vital signs, document medical histories, and assist providers during visits. Responsibilities Insurance & Billing: Verify insurance coverage, collect patient copays and cash drawer balancing. Scheduling: Manage multi-line phone systems, answer inquiries, and schedule or reschedule patient appointments Records & Compliance: Scan documents into Electronic Health Records (EHR/EMR), handle medical record releases, and maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations Greeting patients and visitors upon arrival, directing them to the appropriate provider or waiting area and notifying providers of patient arrivals Providing intake forms and explaining how to complete them Retrieving, updating and organizing patient records Keeping the reception area and waiting room tidy, comfortable and well organized Assist with MA duties, rooming; obtaining vitals and ensuring chart is up to date for visit. Qualifications BLS Certification or Certified Medical Assistant desired, but but not required.
