The primary responsibility of this role is to conduct diagnostic computed tomography (CT) scans. You will be tasked with producing high-quality CT images while exercising professional judgment throughout the procedures. Enjoy a fantastic schedule with day shifts starting flexibly between 6:30 AM and 8:30 AM, minimal on-call duties, and a weekend rotation approximately every sixth weekend.

This position may also be eligible for a sign-on bonus of $20,000!

Your duties will include providing patient care and initiating life support measures when necessary. You will engage effectively with patients, physicians, family members, department staff, and other healthcare professionals.

The ideal candidate will have the expertise to operate CT equipment proficiently, ensuring the production of quality scans, and will be capable of performing related procedures and protocols. You should be eager to learn and adapt to new technologies and assist in orienting new staff members. Additionally, you will be skilled in gathering information from patients or their representatives to enhance personalized treatment and care.

As a CT Technologist, you will work towards understanding the physical and emotional states of patients across all age groups.

Responsibilities may expand based on the needs of our rural network facilities, which could include on-call duties during nights, weekends, and holidays. You may also perform diagnostic radiology procedures, basic radiology tasks, and be familiar with general radiology protocols. Other tasks may involve mobile imaging, electrocardiograms (EKG), cardiac monitor placements, and dual-energy x-ray absorptiometry (DEXA) procedures.

• Completion of formal training in Radiologic Technology from an American Medical Association (AMA) accredited institution or a Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JCERT) approved program is mandatory.
• Experience or training in Computerized Tomography (CT) is preferred.
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification is required upon hire.
• CT certification, in accordance with Diagnostic Imaging Center of Excellence (DICOE) and American College of Radiology (ACR) accreditation standards, is preferred within two years.
• For those working in North Dakota, licensure through the North Dakota Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy (NDMIRT) Board is necessary for medical imaging or radiation therapy procedures.
• In Aberdeen, South Dakota, CT certification must be obtained within 24 months of employment.
• In Iowa, all technologists must possess a permit to practice issued by the Iowa Department of Public Health.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and I.V. certification must be achieved within six weeks of employment, with re-certification as needed.
