Payroll & Human Resources Generalist
-Location: Ventura, CA
-Pay: $35-40/hr DOE

-We are seeking an experienced Payroll & Human Resources Generalist to join our team and support a workforce of approximately 450 employees. This role is ideal for a hands-on HR professional with strong payroll expertise who enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The position is approximately 60% payroll and 40% human resources, serving as the primary onsite resource for payroll, timekeeping, employee support, onboarding, benefits, employee relations, and HR compliance. 

-Qualifications
• 5+ years of payroll administration experience, preferably supporting 400+ employees.
• 3+ years of HR Generalist experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Experience with an integrated HRIS/payroll system; Dayforce preferred.
• Strong knowledge of payroll processing, timekeeping, payroll laws, and compliance.
• Working knowledge of California employment laws and HR practices strongly preferred.
• Experience with employee relations, leave administration, recruiting, onboarding, and HR compliance.
• Strong Excel and reporting skills preferred.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field preferred.

Key Responsibilities
Payroll
• Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll accurately and on time.
• Audit timecards, earnings, deductions, taxes, accruals, and employee data.
• Process new hires, terminations, promotions, transfers, and compensation changes.
• Handle payroll corrections, manual checks, off-cycle payrolls, and adjustments.
• Research and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee pay issues.
• Administer garnishments, levies, child support orders, and other deductions.
• Support payroll audits, W-2 reconciliation, year-end activities, and reporting.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
• Provide payroll and timekeeping guidance to employees, supervisors, and managers.
Human Resources
• Provide day-to-day HR support to employees and management.
• Assist with employee relations matters, investigations, corrective actions, and policy interpretation.
• Maintain personnel files, HRIS records, and employment documentation.
• Support FMLA/CFRA, ADA, leave administration, unemployment claims, and compliance activities.
• Assist with recruiting, onboarding, training coordination, and employee engagement initiatives.
• Support HR projects, process improvements, audits, and special projects.
