Commercial Relationship Manager, Business Development - Community Bank (Queens, NY)

About the opportunity

My client is a well-established, well-capitalized community bank in Queens with a clear strategic push into commercial banking. They are hiring a relationship-driven business developer to bring in new commercial real estate and business clients across Queens and Brooklyn, and to grow those loans into full banking relationships. You will work closely with senior leadership, who will invest in your development, and you will have a real hand in building the bank's commercial business.

What you'll do

• Prospect for, develop and win new relationships with real estate investors, property owners, developers and business owners in Queens, Brooklyn and Nassau County.
• Build a referral network of commercial brokers, attorneys, accountants and property managers.
• Work with the bank's lending and credit teams to move deals from first conversation through underwriting and closing.
• Grow full relationships by bringing clients' operating accounts and treasury services to the bank.
• Represent the bank in the community and at industry events.

Who we're looking for

• Proven ability to build relationships and generate business. You are comfortable picking up the phone and starting a conversation with a business owner.
• Working knowledge of commercial real estate: how a building's income and cash flow work, and what property owners need from their bank.
• Background in commercial banking or lending, or in a related field such as commercial real estate brokerage, commercial mortgage brokerage, property management, title or appraisal, where you worked directly with property owners and investors.
• Familiarity with the Queens and Brooklyn real estate market. An existing network there is a strong plus.
• Strong communication skills and a professional presence.
• Based in the NYC metro area and able to work from the bank's Queens office.

Compensation

Competitive base salary plus incentive, calibrated to experience.
