We are looking for a reliable, motivated, and service-oriented Shift Lead / Key Holder to join our caf team. The Shift Lead plays a vital role in ensuring smooth daily operations, maintaining excellent customer service standards, and supporting the management team in achieving store goals. This position involves opening and closing the caf, supervising staff during shifts, overseeing product quality, and ensuring a welcoming and efficient environment for both customers and team members. The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator, lead by example, and bring a positive, hands-on attitude to every shift.

Responsibilities include preparing and serving coffee, espresso drinks, teas, and other beverages to caf standards, greeting customers warmly and providing menu recommendations as needed, operating coffee machines, grinders, and other caf equipment safely and efficiently, maintaining cleanliness and organization of the caf, handling cash and processing transactions accurately using POS systems, restocking supplies and assisting with inventory management, following food safety and sanitation guidelines, and collaborating with team members to ensure smooth daily operations.

Specific responsibilities for the Shift Lead include opening and/or closing the caf, leading and supporting baristas and other team members during shifts to maintain high service and product standards, assisting in training, coaching, and motivating staff to deliver excellent customer experiences, handling cash management, including register balancing and deposit preparation, monitoring inventory and restocking supplies as needed to support smooth operations, ensuring cleanliness, organization, and compliance with health and safety guidelines, resolving customer concerns quickly and professionally, and communicating effectively with management regarding staffing, supplies, and operational needs.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, knowledge of service and food and beverage, generally involving at least 1 year of FOH operations, being a team player, management experience required for shift lead positions, coffee shop experience preferred, excellent basic math skills and the ability to operate a cash register or POS system, basic problem-solving and conflict resolution skills, dependability, punctuality, and the ability to work flexible shifts, strong organizational and multi-tasking skills, and a passion for coffee, customer service, and fostering a positive work environment.

Compensation: $11.00 - $15.00 per hour
