26008236 Nursing Supervisor (Full Time-Days) – PACU Main Bring your passion to Texas Health so we are Better + Together Work location: Texas Health Dallas, 8200 Walnut Hill Lane Dallas, TX 75231 Work hours: Full Time (40 hours/week) – Day Shift, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM; holiday leadership call coverage required. PACU Department Highlights The position is the supervisor for both Main and Perot PACUs, and averages about 50% in staffing and 50% administrative. We take call shifts for both departments and need to be able to function independently as a PACU RN. We work with a variety of other departments throughout the day, so a positive attitude is essential as well as critical thinking skills and the ability to be flexible throughout the day. Excellent interpersonal skills to problem solve and to adapt to the needs of our diverse population and the other departments we work closely with. Here’s What You Need Associate’s degree graduate from an accredited school of nursing required Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred 2 Years experience as a registered nurse with previous experience as a charge nurse or similar leadership role (i.e. Charge nurse, committee chair, preceptor) required Prior leadership or charge nurse experience in a high-acuity perioperative services environment, including PACU, ICU, ED, or procedural areas strongly preferred RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire Required And BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required AND ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support 90 Days Req And PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support Upon Hire Pref And OCN - Oncology Certified Nurse Upon Hire Pref What You Will Do Collaborate with Leadership, UBC, and appropriate team members to establish, implement, and monitor department policies/procedures, facilitate unit goals, evaluate and individualize patient care and provide direction to staff to promote quality outcomes. In addition to the required qualifications, a successful Nursing Supervisor will: Engage staff to promote evidence-based practices within the unit. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and regulatory requirements for compliance. Provide bedside leadership and clinical expertise to improve quality of patient care. Provide safe direct patient care in coordination with other staff when unit activity dictates. Provide guidance in emergency or complex situations. Use appropriate methodology consistently for communication handoffs.
